What is the difference between the SL-1000 and the SL-1000i ?
Their exterior size is the same. 26” high x 8” diameter. However the power of the motors are:
- SL-1000: ¾ hp equivalent DC motor. This operator is rated in classes I, II, III, and IV. For gate opening of up to 30’ and weight of 1000lbs.
- SL-1000i: 1.2 hp equivalent DC motor. This operator is our Industrial model and rated in classes I, II, III, and IV with opening lengths of 40-45’ and weight of up to 2000lbs.
How many cycles a day can these operators perform?
- All RGS operators are rated continuous duty.
- Many are installed in developments with as many as 300 or more units.
What is the closing speed of the slide operators?
- RGS operators all comply with the UL325 regulations and close in approximately 1.2 seconds per foot.
- UL 325 compliant and ETL listed
What is your rack gear made of and is it strong enough to withstand continuous duty action?
- The RGS rack gear is machined from UHMW nylon composite.
- Extremely strong because RGS chooses to machine instead of mold them.
- Even the RGS pinion gears are machined from solid blocks of aircraft quality aluminum.
Where are your operators built?
- Again, RGS does not take the easy way out.
- RGS operators are built in Pensacola, FL.
- RGS believes in supporting the USA by hiring US citizens, and hopes you will as well.
What kind of warranty do your operators have?
- All RGS operators come with a full 5 year warranty.
- The controller/ electronics have a two year warranty.
- RGS provides five years on all parts and the installers
provide labor warranty.
- Many dealers give a one or two year warranty then offer
maintenance contracts or per call repair service.
You claim your operators are “maintenance free”. Can you explain how that can be?
- RGS operators have 3 moving parts. With so few moving parts it is almost impossible for anything to break down.
- Should something go wrong, RGS has an advanced replacement program.
- You simply notify us and we will send a replacement out the same day we get the request.
- The entire swap out will take less than 30 minutes.
- You then send the old operator back to us. It is that simple.
